Been having a look at the Process 29er in Carbon and it seems like an all round decent specced well thought out bike.
Anyone ridden one? Or got long term experience with one?
Failing that the usual armchair opinions owed also be welcomed!
For a 29er, that's a nice looking bike.
I've had the aluminium version for over a year now.
It rips!
Despite it being quite heavy (15kg) Ive ridden it way more this winter than normal, when I'd normally be on my hardtail, pedals well and steep SA means it climbs very well for such a big bike.
Also it's completely silent to ride, cable routing is very tidy- I think this helps- carbon one also has an integrated spare mech hanger!
Descents, it feels like cheating, eats up everything and short rear end means it's still fun to corner, but I've found I need to weight the front more, which felt wrong at first.
From stock mine has had a few upgrades:
New damper for Yari-moco is crap
Lighter wheels- formula on wtb sti29 were weighty, putting some Mavic xa elites on changed the bikes feel
Wider cassette SRAM nx 11-42 was heavy & mech died after a few months, XT now & much better
Level T brakes were powerful but inconsistent tech E3s now.
The CR comes with lyrics, Kom rims, nx eagle & guides.
So every issue I had with the bike is sorted !
+ comfy saddle, wide bars, short stem, 170mm dropper on large, 2.5/2.3 minions, etc perfect spec from the off
Negatives-
Clearance at the back isn't massive, 2.3 only but even in some very clagy mud it's never jammed up.
It's heavy but it's a 160mm 29er & I only notice it when lifting it up.
I can only fit a 500ml bottle on my medium frame
It's not quite as plush in the rear as my old process, but pedals much better
Approved. Carry on
