Probably going to change my bike this spring. As yet to be convinced that I [s]want[/s] need something as burly as a Process, but may well try one and get the itch scratched, anyone any experience of the 153dl ? Local lbs has one I can demo, but just think I could be disappointed by all the enduroness of it.
Yes. I am considering it as an ability aid for the trickier downs whilst away doing bigger rides on steeper rockier stuff, when I often worry meself out of things on my 26" trance with its 69 ish deg head angle, but actually suspect it's a case of mtfu , but also need something which is happy on my usual patch of hilly forest trails, with only minimal gnar involved.
I've probably talked meself out of it already, but hey ho, opinions welcomed.
Are you sure you need that much travel ? I replaced my Spicy with a 134DL Process and haven't looked back . Far more practical for my riding , good on the ups and plenty good enough on the downs . Does that help ? 😀
I demoed a 153dl, it felt amazing on the downs but it is a lot of bike. If I were to get one id lighten it up abit or you may be better off with the 134.
If your not enduring maybe consider the 111, I've got a 153 which I love, got lb carbon rims 1x few other upgrades and its an ace all day bike
134 would be ace too
Hmmm. Thanks folk !
To be honest I think you've told me what I may find out anyway. I'll likely demo it anyway, just to give me a ' more bike than you need, ya clot ' marker to judge ' modern' bikes by.
Thanks again !
I anted a bigger bike in the summer but was worried about overkill for my local trails so In the stw tradition can I suggest the bike I have to fit your requirements?
Last summer I wanted a reasonably burley alu frame that could handle an Alps trip also double as my regular trail bike and be built and set up light and poppy.
After lots of research ended up with a banshee spitfire. Currently with pikes, dbinline shock, 1x10, LB carbon 27.5 rims, reverb stealth and a smidge under 30lb with pedals. Plan to buy second hand 26" db wheels and put slack adjustment chip on for a trip to the Alps this summer.
Also they do the rune which has more travel to match that kona a bit closer.
Hmmm. Thanks folk !

My suspicion is, that I'll end up back at Giant with another Trance variant, but just wanted to try others !
Thank you again.
Oops sorry, no idea how we got the original and edited post then !
