Hi,
Anyone familiar with the rear brake hose routing on my 'new' 2009 Kona Kula? There are 3 hose / cable guides under the top tube - the middle one is slotted for a cable tie but the front and rear guides are just rounded slots which is too large to secure the hose.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gordon.
I have a later model which has the same setup. I just cable tied the hose to the middle guide and popped it into the front and rear guides. You could try a couple of wraps of ducttape around it to make it a snug fit if it's too loose, but mine stays put just fine.
They used to come with split plastic sleeves that had a ridge to locate in the slot, lots of bikes had something similar at the time. Your lbs may have something laying about in their spares drawers.
Excuse the not well looked after bike, but this photo shows the split plastic sleeve coatesy is talking about: photo. We obviously couldn't find them when we last change the hose on my partner's old bike so we just cable tied it in place (needed three cable ties).
