I want a cheap-ish 'adventure bike' ie something for road rides, getting around in a city, touring on and off-road with camping gear and generally riding off-road when my gnarpoon (Capra) is overkill.
I was originally replacing a Kaffenback when they didn't have disc mounts, then I got a new version frameset, then decided it was too heavy and I got a London Road frameset, then I decided I'm never going to manage to get it built (and build the wheels I started). And yes I have problems.
Been looking at the above bikes - any thoughts? Seems the Jake is a bit more cyclocross-ish but they all seem to fulfil the criteria. Anything else I should be looking at?

Not thought about an Arkose? Away with you! 😉
Pinnacle Arkose & Pyrolite
Kona Rove
Marin Four Corners
NORCO search
Jamis Renegade
and that's just for starters.....
Hehe, ok cool thanks will check some of them out. It does need to be pretty damn cheap though. Norco Search looks good for £725.
Can get the Jake from last year for £599 which is pretty tempting with 10 speed Tiagra gears.
I have a discount code for 10% off at Dales also which makes a Spesh or Genesis a bit cheaper
