Really happy to hear that. The nicest DH rider I’ve met (although TBF all I’ve met have been really nice, but he stands out).

Would think that suits both parties very well. He rode excellently at the end of the season especially amongst all the uncertainty.

Does this mean Laurie will be leaving?

I'll speculate and say no. From a commercial point of view it makes sense to have a european rider in the portfolio as well as a UK rider.

It's best that he moves on. Greenland needs a fresh start, he hasn't been on the top of his form since he caught that virus a few years back and could do with new surroundings to help him regain his mojo.

Syndicate like playing the long game. Remember Jackson didn't finish a race for an entire year after crashing in Hardline Tasmania with rumours (now clearly disproved) that he might not ever be fully fit again or such a massive injury would have given him the fear.

But they stuck with him and look at the results.

But back to Kolb - stoked for him to get what is hopefully a stable job setup (no offense intended to Atherton but as a newer, smaller setup you wonder if they had the resources to extract the last fraction of a second out of a top rider compared to the bigger teams)

Where does Vali end up?

Few teams seem to want many ladies on their team.

Allegedly she's going to Commencal Schwalbe Les Orres, which would be logical. She's had the Ravanels coaching her for quite a while.

There are eye witness accounts of people seeing Oisin getting on the gondola with a Trek at Mont Sainte Anne.

Hopefully the enduro riders are  having as much success, although I'm not as optimistic.

I expect she'll end up at Specialized.

Moir still posting with YT bikes.

Bienve still YT...plus Stark and Parish at Rampage. Does the American franchise just carry on?

But where is Big Priv gonna go?

I had a hunch Trek would be trying to nab one or more of the YT riders after their dismal year.

OO will be a great addition for them. They should have got the chequebook out for Vali as well.

I guess Laurie will go to a smaller team now, and I agree it might be what he needs. Did I see a rumour about him going to Atherton? That would be a good fit I reckon.

Vali seems deeply connected with RockShox which may also drive a decision as to where she goes.

Im surprised Jack Moir hasn't come back to DH, and is presumably going to a be a free agent.  Although the competition for factory slots is insane.  Particularly now that the 3 best juniors are entering the senior game

Few teams seem to want many ladies on their team.

until this season only one of your elite ladies counted for the team standings. not much point having two of them.

now its a max of 4 per category and max 10 riders total.

with multi year contracts I guess it will take a year or two to shift out of this prior mindset.

arguably this has made the "probably qualify but unlikely to win" subset of women much more valuable under the new finals format as they would be a good source of team points and TV exposure

THats a very nice way of saying he its risk of not being at the races due to unemployment. I hope he finds a team as he would be missed

The women definitely had some long overdue pay days when their points were highly sought after in the last off-season, so teams could make sure they made the cut for the series.

Not sure if that will continue now team points are the important ones?

I'm remembering this a bit vaguely, maybe someone can clarify?

I believe after last weekend the points are now 'team' points, not 'rider' points, so the rider is now less valuable than before... Although i can't recall the exact date from PB guy.

I thought that too - Other than Trek & Commencal Les Orres who else uses Rockshox?

commencal muc-off too.

wonder how much rockshox could put up, maybe restart the rockshox team that vali was on previously.

as world champ, she has an automatic entry to next years races, so no need to worry about team rankings etc. ideal chance for a new/returning team to get their foot in the door with her

Oisin is all sorted for next year apparently, delighted for him, esp. after how he was treated
