Noticed I have some knocking in the front end of my new bike I'm putting together, pretty sure it's not the headset as it feels ok if I lift the front wheel off the ground and wiggle the bars forward/back. I do remember having this on the old bike (same fork) however it didn't seem quite so bad.

Is it likely to be the bushings worn and in need of replacement? Is this covered in a normal service by J-Tech or TF? I'd like to try it myself but it looks like a bit more of an advanced service - have only serviced my old u-turn Sektor which was very basic inside compared to a Lyrik RC2DH AFAIK. Will I damage the fork any further if I keep riding with this play or is it more just something that's a bit annoying?

I was told lyriks relay more on the lube oil around the bushings. I'd try a lowers service first to make sure they have sufficient oil in there. If it's bad then yes it'll be a big enough job so Loco/TF etc.

If it's not your headset or your front wheel bearings and all bolts are tight it will most likely be your fork bushings. You can check by holding the uppers and gently rocking the lowers. Definitely a job for the specialist, removal and fitting bushings needs a special tool. Send em back to sram if they're less than two years old, they'll probably send you a new pair

When does it knock? In the older solo airs there is a small spring wave washer that snaps and means the fork knocks as it changes direction of travel. I've changed two now in mine.
