I get a knocking when I rock my dt swiss xmm 140 fork back and forth. I thought it was the headset but it isn't
They're only 5 months old, anyone else had this or similar

Sounds like loose bushings. Or perhaps a loose rotor/loose rotor rivets if it's a floater.

Standard 6 bolt rotor mate so rules that out, thanks.

Take them back under warranty. You will find the steerer has come unbounded from the fork crown.
DT fork bonding isn't great.
