Had a pretty bad OTB moment this morning.

Forgot to let go of the bars and somersaulted with the bike onto my head and side.

Knee is pretty badly banged up as well as pretty much everything else. Thank God for helmets!

Thinking of either one of these two after the event and wondered if anyone has any experience and if the shin protection is a bit OTT (given I dont DH).

Get the one with shin protection mate. Its better to have it and not need it than the other way around. Besides after couple of pedals you can barely feel its there.. Just be sure the fit is snug. Saved me from broken bones last weekend.

+1 for the knee & shins. Best trail pads I've owned.

GF loves them too.
