So, I've lost one of my knee pads (TLD 5450 knee/shin) somewhere so time for a new pair to avoid incidents that lead to Don't look if you are squeamish... (that was the result from thinking I'd be ok without them for 1 ride)

Its a toss up between the TLD Raid and TLD speed knee sleeve, anyone tried both? is the raid a bit bulky for trail/all day riding, is the trail up to more rowdy riding?

Anything else?

I’ve got the Speeds. Very comfy for trail riding, with enough protection to take the edge off.

7iDP control knee pads are the best I've ever used. Bit pricey but comfortable enough to wear all day yet still plenty of protection.

Also using the Speed ones here. They are very comfy for all day wear. I have POC VPD Airsfor a little more protection but the Speeds get worn most of the time.

Went through this recently have never worn pads before. We tried loads on. IXS flow won out. Light enough for trail use but paddy enough for actually offering protection.

tried the alpinestars paragon and they were great.. until the stitching started to come apart after a few hours so got the POC VPD air instead. A bit more bulky and less ventilated but still comfy and the quality is much better (so far)

Other people's opinions on this are fairly irrelevant. You need ones that fit your legs. That's by far the most important criterion.

I've got the raids and the speeds.
My vote is for the raids.
Comfier than the speeds and more protection.
I bought the speeds for lighter duty's but wish id not bothered

I just bought a pair of dainese trail skin 2's to replace my tatty old fox launch pros and so far so good. They're comfy, stay in place and compared to my old ones feel like I'm not wearing any pads at all.

Dainese trailskin 1 here, seem pretty good and not mud catchers like the 2 looked to me 😉
Replace G-form, which I really liked but now seem very lightweight after wearing the Trail skins for a while.
Not crashed either in major anger (happily shrugged off daft falls/offs) but I wear them every ride unlike heavier pads, which simply wouldn't get worn -
unless I was in the alps or doing pure DH

Race face ambush are very good, wearable for a day out but more than enough protection for an uplift day

Loving my Fox Launch Enduro. Lightweight, fit is good (no tw4t gap) and they wash well.
