Ham fisted 'seating' of a new headset crown race using correct tool and hammer but on concrete slab rather than piece of wood resulted in me completely knackering a drop out in the fork....so need new forks. 😳

So, any recommendations?

I need straight steerer, disc mount plus mudguard eyes.

What do you all suggest?

I will be more careful when fitting the crown race on any new forks.....

Thanks!

I always heat crown races up (usually on the kitchen hob) and drop them straight on- non of this hammering malarky!

Good excuse to buy some Lynsky Endurance carbon (alu steerer) forks-been running them on my Norco gravel bike for awhile.

I have had those Lynskey forks on my Croix de Fer for a couple of years as it happens so was going to recommend them also!

Not to hijack, but does anyone know of anything like the Lynksey but with a mid fork eyelet?

I actually have a pair of steel Genesis forks for sale in the classifieds if that's any use? here

Edit: no disc mount sorry.

Been faultless.

Genesis sell CDF forks seperately for a reasonable price - any Genesis dealer can get them for you.

Get a ring spanner on the dropout and bend it back. They are steel after all....
