Anyone else tried this? I thought I'd give it a go, not with a pre-waxed chain but by degreasing a new chain and applying as directed.
After a very filthy 35km ride yesterday and leaving the bike to dry in a warm room, there is loads of visible rust already on the insides of the plates and the rollers.
First thoughts are sack it off and go back to normal lube because it's not up to the job.
Just wondered if anyone has any experience with it.
Cheers
Rust is an issue with any wax unless you get it bone dry after riding. Also, I find the chain has to be cleaner that clean or the wax doesn't stick properly. This demonstrates what I mean:

Thanks Ogden, I've read a few of the hot wax threads over the years but never tried it.
I guess it was a bit hopeful to think this stuff would be as effective and less of a faff than proper waxing. Never had an issue with rusty chains using normal lubes so I think I'll call this a big fat failure.
No chance am I manually drying a chain after a winter ride! I want less faff, not more.
I like wax, be it drip on like squirt/smoove or melt wax like silca but both are more faff and I reserve it for summer on the MTB and the road bikes. Some will say squirt or smoove work well in winter but I've never had any luck with it in wet or muddy conditions.
I use drip wax on the roads and gravel. If the roads are wet I just run the chain through a rag afterwards. No rust issues and the wax lasts several rides. M uch cleaner than oil too. I think mucky MTB would need a good clean and re-wax.
