Looking to do a gravel/mountain biking ride out of Swaledale and thinking Tan Hill over to Kirkby Stephen then there looks like a bridle way up and over to the Nine Standards then along the edge then road to Keld.

Is it rideable? Both the bridleway up to Tan Hill and then the high bridleway over to the nine standards?

What's the bridleway like? Rocky or wide doubletrack/Land Rover track?

can't help you with what they are like but I have used this site to check out trails in new areas and possible bivi stops.

Useful site - it looks like the bridleway to the nine standards is a wide Land Rover track which is perfect. Not any photos of the Tan Hilll track

I'm not a local but I'm sure the Tan Hill to keld link was on the c2c. Wash a bit mushy down hill but rideable.

Also there is a terrific old railway between Browber and Kirkby Stephen that we found doing the c2c.

Hi

Tan Hill -> Keld is covered in a Vertebrate Graphics guide to N Yorks Dales. done downhill (N-S) and soft i.e. avoid in winter.

The KS -> Keld is part of the Wainwright C2C route, you might find that a useful search to try.
