The tripster got a lot of love on here with about the longest bike thread in history so thought I'd ask.....
Anyone ridden both? Clearly a sizeable difference in price and whilst I can get a bit of a deal on the tripster the gap will still be significant. It would be my only drop bar bike (there is some n-3 about to happen) and I'm already building up a full on rohloff expedition bike so it's duties will mostly be from pure road ride (of the broken back road variety) to faster lightly packed bikepacking.
Current 15% off @ Alpkit deal has me wondering a bit harder....
If you look at the frame only price the Tripster ATR seems about £400 more than the Camino.
An acquaintance runs this blog, which seems to answer your question pretty comprehensively!

Simon is a great guy, and if you message him through his website he may even give you more in-depth thoughts!
He reckons there is a £1k difference, but if the spec is the same, surely only the frame price should be different?
If it were my money I would go for the Tripster. I did, albeit the aluminium version and it is great!
I've a tripster ATR, and I use it like you would...road 700c/gravel 700c/650b oddity...
I've not ridden a camino, but TBH, they both look similar and capable, and the camino forks do look lush!
I know it doesn't help, but i guess the point is the tripster isn't the only ti 'do it all' bike anymore, and I doubt it's the best/worst/much different!
You're welcome to ride my tripster if you're south at all?

Got a Camino Ti. Had a Tripster ATR v1. Tripster was a nicer ride - more springy Ti. Camino fit betterer. Sold the Tripster ATR because only only 3 years warranty and reports of them and the Sync cracking outside the 3 years and not being warranteed. This was the V1 Tripster. V2 has a beefier down tube. Camino has a 10 year warranty.
Don’t know about the Kinesis. I’ve got a Camino Ti and it’s bloody amazing. Does everything I ask of it. Loaded up commuting, big long road rides, trail centres and coast to coasts.
So comfortable and I’m not missing skinny little road tyres one bit.
Alpkit/Sonder are a god send to this industry. They’re putting a lot of big established companies to shame.
How many bike company designers can you ring up for advice??? Not many.
Thanks so much for the advice so far.
If you look at the frame only price the Tripster ATR seems about £400 more than the Camino.
Its a bit most than that. Tripster atr is £1850 rrp but that is just the frame. The fork is another £280. The Camino ti is £1249 rrp. The tripster can be had a bit cheaper if you are an odd size. I understand V3 is just a few days away now. So I guess there may be some v2 deals to be had for remaining stock in shops.
Strugglinon - have you tried guards with your forks? Can't see any bosses on the forks in the few photos they have on the website and they have not come back with an answer yet.
Convert,
I’ve tried guards other than one of those MTB Enduro type zip tie on things.
You’re right that there’s no eyelets on the carbon forks. I’m running 700x45 Riddlers, which doesn’t leave a lot of room for guards.
Yeah forgot to mention the Camino forks have limited clearance and no mudguard eyes. I have a work around planned for this winter but also keep meaning to get a pair of the Arkose 12mm bolt through forks as they tick all the boxes and are a good price compared to what else is available.
Hmmmm. That maybe me out then. Mildly illogical as it would still be cheaper to buy it and throw away the forks and buy new ones - but it seems a bit crap. Why make a song and dance in you blurb about the the frame being so adaptable and having bosses for guards and racks then compulsorily selling it with a fork that does not?
Think its all that was available when they brought it out. The Camino is getting a bit dated now. QR front and rear. Inflexible fork, but at half the cost with good warranty and customer service its good value
The deal breaker for me on the Tripster is the Warranty. Frame and forks is what £2k? I have just checked and they have increased it this year to 5 years (for bikes bought after January) which is better but still too short IMO. Kinesis make ace bikes, seem to have a great ethos and the people I have met are great but if I was dropping that kind of cash I would be keeping the bike a looong time and 5 years is too short. Even Planet X warrantied one of my Ti frames after 8 years (2nd time it broke).
If I was spending that kind of money Id look at the Reilly Gradient. A mate has one and its stunning.
