I bought a second hand Kinetics Road machine trainer a while ago, but then spannered my back so it's sat in the garage for the best part of 9 months.
I've cleaned it up, put new batteries in the i-Ride sensor, downloaded the app and followed all the instructions e.g. pairing sensors with app, not phone etc.
First couple of attempts didn't go well, took ages to pair sensors, then lost them again, then took ages to pair them again, then froze, then eventually I got a 'warm up' started and the only sensor it could read was heart rate. At this point I noticed the workout timer was actually struggling, like the phone was running out of processing power, and would jump several seconds at a time.
To be honest I shouldn't have expected much, the reviews on Google Play Store are relatively poor, just wondering if there's anything can be done to work around the issues?
I could of course just get a Sufferfest or Trainerroad subscription, they both calculate virtual watts from the speed sensor and bypass the Kinetics sensors and app...
For now will just ride to speed on my Garmin and plug it in to a power curve spreadsheet on Excel afterwards, Zwift eat your heart out! 😀
