Kinderney hub vs. Rohloff

So I've only just noticed that Kinderney do a 7 speed internally gear hub

Physio suggested I shoudn't be riding so far as I do on a single speed, so this could save my current bike and avoid me spending thousands on a new Pinion build

It looks like exactly what I want: enough range (over 400%), 142 x 12mm, integrated trigger shifter, a reasonable amount of gears (I find 14 too many) and significantly lighter than a Rohloff (it adds only a few hundred grams over a derailleur setup)

I'm not sure about reliability and drag though. Does anyone have one?

its an epicyclic gearbox so will have the same sort of drag and indirect feel as any I would guess.

Does this not also depend simply on the quality?

The Hammerschmidt was also planetary, I think, but with horrendous drag (at least so I've heard)

If anything I'd expect the Kinderney to be better than the Rohloff, as (I think) it effectively only has the more efficient top 7 gears of the latter
