My son is 8 years old and I have been trying to buy him some decent winter MTB trousers. the Fox Youth Defend trousers are odd dimensions, the 26 is massive and the 24 was too short in the leg and too wide on the waist. Anyone got suggestions please?

#Plug ... shorts and DH trousers 10% off with my kids code.... at filthyrides
(#olstermtb)

Otherwise... faced the same problem in sizing or quality.
We have some ShredXS shorts which are great but the DH trousers lasted 1 ride... then multiple sewing up.

The adjustable waistband seemed a good idea but they were quite literally more sewing than original in a couple of months.

We tried some Fox MX ones (180) but with the waist in fully in they fit his waist but won't go over his thighs even though he can fit pads over his knees. It might be the MTB ones are bigger legs?

thanks, he would love the cammo dh trousers. Can you do them in a waterproof fabric?

Not me Jnr's just a "brand ambassador" (so he gets discount and the odd free race jersey and stuff and we're saving ourselves for the trousers)... but if you contact Benn (i.e. Mr Filthy Rides) through the page I'm pretty sure he can do the camo. If you use Ollie's discount code it goes towards his points for him/us buying. I don't usually promote but the trousers are really nice and I had a bit of input into design.

Completely unbiassed though they are actually really nice with proper sealed pockets and stuff... (I was actually riding with Benn the last 2 days when he was wearing his). The "recommendation" is a specific wash in (maybe Nikwax - I think it's on the site if not ask) for better waterproofing.

I didn't ask why... but I'm presuming there is a good reason to use the waterproofing after rather than pre-proof.

Ooh, I just had to return some Fox trousers from a sale which despite the sizing guide were shockingly small (and obviously, the size up are triple the price). Those filthy rides trousers look like just the thing.

@rossburton .... if you use Ollie's code (OLSTERMTB10) he gets points towards his and you get 10% off (TBH can't remember details, I let Benn tell me). (only if your buying anyway)

If you still want the Fox then Matt Gardiner on eBay is usually a good place price wise.
