Hi All
I hope someone can help, I have not done much work on kids bikes before!
My son has a halfords "Hood" mountain bike, the thread on the drive side crank has worn, so the pedal will not attach securely.
I would like to re-comission the bike and am looking to see if anyone knows where parts for this type of bike can be purchased.
The cranks are approx 140mm long and have a aquare taper, with a 13mm bolt securing them. The chain ring is part of the same moulding as the crank.
(The bottom bracket feels rough as *****), so a solution with a bottom bracket would be good!
Thanks in advance for any help received.

I guys I realise this is not about Shredding the Gnarr, but thought someone would have been able to point me in the right direction?
Go on ............please!

Remove the other crank arm and BB - it will be loose ball FAG style (you can cheat and just remove l/h cup) clean, re-grease an re-asemble. ( new bearings if req.) Source a new crankset of similar length and fit it to the (clean) axle to the correct torque. Done.
LH BB cup adjusts bearing preload, lockring holds it in place
Alas these types of bikes are not generally made to be repairable, and indeed your average punter won't bother to repair it. ergo there is no demand and as a consequence no supply.
option 1 : Ditch it and buy a new bike like yer average punter.
option 2 : Scrounge around the tip / free ads / ebay for a similar bike and swap the parts over
option 3 : Go to an LBS where they recycle / sell a lot of second hand stuff and see if they have anything.
Good luck
Thanks GW
Where is best to get new crank arms?
SJS Cycles (St John Street) in Somerset will be a good start.

Any lbs that sells cheap kids bikes like concept, emelle etc can get hold of a suitable crankset
