Has anyone taken young kids to 'Ard Rock before?

I'll have a three and a half year old and one year old at the time. Is there enough on so if I came with my wife and kids they wouldn't get bored when I was riding?

Cheers

My little girl was at Ard Rock for the last two years.  She's five.  She loved the atmosphere. She likes bikes, live music and eating chips.  There is a kids pump track but she's too unstable on a bike for that. We had alsmot two full days there.  Plan to camp 2019 if I get in.

Mrs took the little one to the bottom of stage 1 and she loved cheering riders on.  If it was chucking it down it would have been a different story!

We camped with a 3 year old and an 8 week old this year, you'll be reet.

It was so nice I emailed work to tell them that i'd be late into work on Monday as we were camping an extra night 🙂

as above saw plenty of kids having a great time,

a little girl nearby screamed "thats my dad", as he launched off the final jump to the finish line of stage 7..

she had a right smile on her face..   :0)

Really depends what sort of thing your wife and kids are interested in. It’s very much a bikey thing and there isn’t a lot more to do without driving a fair distance.  If the things of a bike show in a field with races running in the background aren’t what’s wanted you might be better getting a drop off and pickup or going yourself...

Day time is great its just a busy fun place for kids to soak up.  Night time can be difficult as you get big gangs of lads lads lads mixed up with families so be warned your kids might not get any sleep and learn some new words.

Anyone noticed the mention on 'non competitor festival tickets' on the site. Is that a change for next year?

I've just read that,  does that mean my wife has to pay to wave me off the start line now!? Seems a bit mean!

Some of the lads in our group brought kids and wives for the first time this year, they all loved it and hope to be back next year if we get tickets. I think it really depends on the weather though, it was great this year so the kids spent time taking part in some of the organised mini events, playing in the river and generally entertaining themselves on bikes and kicking a football on site.

Well,  ticket for the sport is booked and apartment in Reeth confirmed so my 3 year old will be coming!

As above,  it's weather dependent.  Last year,  they were able to hang around the festival,  there was a tent with kids toys which kept little one entertained for ages, and they went up to the park in Reeth.
