Trying to set up a tant em for use with my daughter. About 106cm rides fine on her own but longer rides this could work well

Is sjs the only place to get kiddy cranks?

Also what do people use for bars? The bars are mile from where she need them. Nee some sort of Megha swept back bar but not to wide. Any suggestions!

Our kiddyback tandem has stoker bars that come back a long way almost down the sides of the child so allow short or longer reach (child holds the sides). Similar bar to that pictured in the link.
We have double drilled thorn child cranks for the stoker. If legs will reach this is arguably better than kiddycranks.
For tandems parts either Sjs or JD Tandems.(tandems.co.uk) are the usual suspects.

They look like the right idea almost a bit of a cage. Where did you get them?

I definitely need the kiddy cranks as she could not reach the cranks even shortened.

I have to admit they came on the tandem, it's a thorn voyager kiddyback, sufficiently old that it's black with 3 x 9 speed LX gears which probably dates it. We got it second or more hand about 6 or 7 years ago. Sorry not mega helpful but sjs may have the ones pictured on their tandem for sale. I think they are just stoker bars facing backwards with points downward. They also do long, and possibly telescoping stoker stems to get the bars in the right place.

For bars if yo uget an adjustable stoker stem you can split the parts and use a gooseneck threaded stem ( with maybe a shim) this gets the bars a long way back. So the stem part of the gooseneck goes into the part of the adjustable stoker stem that fits to the seatpost.

One of these https://www.ebay.com/itm/Controltech-Tandem-Adjustable-Stoker-Bike-Stem-31-8-31-6-190-230mm-215-255mm-/202076830598
Plus one of these

I have exercise bike bars oriented horizontally on the back of a Circe Helios tandem for my daughter (they come as standard and you run them upright for adults):

I've also just removed a pair of Thorn crank shorteners from it, which you can have for the price of postage if they're any use to you (Message me directly).

If you're of Facebook try asking on the tandem club group, or even try the forum on the tandem club website itself

Some interesting info there Thai. Good idea about the Facebook group.

Thanks for the offer of the crank shortener but she need the cranks higher. Very kind.

Those tandem stems are very expensive for a cheap part. Lack of demand I guess.
