Hi folks,
I am planning a trip away with another family and looking for trail centres in east Wales and England that have trails that are suitable for 10 year old on a rigid or hardtail. If its too rocky it will not be a good experience for the youngsters.
FOD would be ideal but the other family would like to stay somewhere a bit more remote. Any suggestions for kids friendly trails in Wales or the Peaks?
With regards,
Richard
Not really close to where you suggested but my 10yo loved Coed y Brenin's Minotour. Switchback climbs, nice and smooth, bail out points every few km.

Good suggestion but it is a bit far.
Llandegla? I would imagine there’s quite a few bits of it a 10 year old would enjoy pottering round...
The blue at Afan has just been resurfaced
Not Danny’s park apparently 😉
Haldon is excellent for kids. Dartmoor is pretty remote. And beaches. But not Wales or the Peaks.
As above, he should be fine on pretty much everything at llandegla. Not all at one, just pick and choose sections.
Wind Hill has several trails that are suitable, and there's Ashton Court/Lea Woods about 20 miles away if you want something a bit easier.

Another upvote for Minotaur at Coed y Brenin. 3 loops of trail all with a good surface and some nice little features. Suitable for all ages and abilities. Should even put a smile on the face of more experienced riders.
We thought Whinlatter blue was good.
+1 for Haldon. Might look a long way, but it's motorway and dual carriageway the whole way so not that slow to get there (outside of caravan season at least)
Thanks everyone. Llandegla is stored away for another trip, as has Haldon. They have been persuaded to stay at FOD. The Brecons aren't far for some bigger walks. Can't wait!!
