In the area tomorrow evening - someone mentioned a technical trail in the area. Thinks its Fineshade wood? Does anyone know if this is the right wood.

Cheers

Wakerley Wood and fineshade, fineshade is odd, it's a bit of a "teaser" trail a family trail with this is what you could have had 100 meter snippets at various locations along the trail (though they are fun). Wakerley is a 6 km XC loop with some off piste stuff if you know where to look.

I think the one you want is the Scartree Trail at Wakerley Great Wood. Other side of the A43 to Fineshades. It's not uber technical but is fun enough when it's not under a foot of mud.

Haven't been over there recently so not sure what condition it's in right now.

Nah, last time I was there the piles of hardcore were still unlaid and latest I heard suggests it might not all get done for a while yet.

blimey it was pretty cut up back then, i guess they've been waiting to have something a bit more solid to work with.

Last time I was there (early June) all the 'natural' sections looked like this.

Last two posts from one of the trailbuilders.

Trail builder is due back at the end of July, but I don't think the stone is moving just yet 🙁

I have a guy filling in some paperwork for me so I can get his machines in the woods, we are not far away now from getting started, the dry weather is helping its slowly drying up 🙂
