Its looking like my bike won't be ready for our annual Keswick weekend away this weekend as my end caps haven't arrived after 10 days from acycles, absolutely gutted. Has anyone hired a bike from Cyclewise at Whinlatter or Keswick bikes or can you recommend a bike hire place that does half decent bikes without charging the earth. Hardtail or full suss I am not really bothered.

Prices on websites?

just pop a quid in the MRT box for my time googling that for you 😉

Oh and what end caps? just call one of these 2 excellent shops and see if they have any in stock or could get some by the weekend....

Need 10x135 dt swiss adaptors for sram xd hub. Scoured the internet but only in stock in france but acycles seem to have lost my order from 10 days ago. They are like rocking horse sh*t. I will try the shops just in case they can get them in.

Thanks for the links to the hire bikes. I have seen them and the prices seem good. Was hoping to find out what bikes they hire and what they are like. Much rather take my own bike though!

Had similar service from Acycles, will never use again! If you're hiring from Cyclewise then take your own pedals. Might get better ones on the higher end bikes, but the hardtail my girlfriend rented had horrible* ones on that looked like they belonged in the 90's. Seem to remember it was pretty easy to find out what bikes each of the places in Keswick offered, think the full sus ones were about £40 a day.

*Edit - in terms of lack of grip and her feet slipping off all the time rather than aesthetics!

That's a good call. Never thought of taking my own pedals, cheers pal.

Just call them think they both do demo bikes and probably worth booking
