Starting to build my lads new bike and instead of a standard seat post I was thinking of fitting a dropper.
Thing is he's not quite tall enough to have the dropper all the way up.
Do we think there will be an issue with keeping the dropper set low for most of the time he's riding?
When it's in the garage I can extend it fully so it won't be compressed permanently.
No. It will be fine. You could maybe fabricate a funky height-stop with a loop of swaged cable?
You could get one of the 3/4-position droppers which normally have a height just below top-out, then a mid setting. Then it would be easy to get back to his exact setting if he needs to drop it and the fixed pin would keep it there.
^^^^good idea about the height stop, hadn't thought of that.
I think the bonty dropper has shims you can fit which would be a neat solution.
All our droppers are stored and transported compressed so shouldn't be a problem.
Was trying to avoid getting another dropper as I have two spares kicking around - Brand-X and X-Fusion which I was going to use.
Sounds like it shouldn't be an issue anyway.
Thanks all.
