Supposed to be pretty good, a number of the Loco BM team are running them with good reports.
Also running KCNC cranks and other componentry 😀

They look lovely. Not seen or heard any comments about them being used in the real world. I have some kcnc scandium bars and they are lovely. They seem to know what they are doing with their stuff. Clee Cycles is only 20 mins from my house so may pop over and take a peek 🙂

Lovely, however even though I'm a massive fan of KCNC gear the availability of spares and pads would put me off.

Parts should be availble through Clee Cycles without any fuss. 😀

In my experience, parts for KCNC have never been an issue. Clee Cycles are very well stocked and are always eager to help. The owner is a proper engineer of old, so keeps all of the faffy bits and pieces that you could think of to ease the strain when parts are needed urgently.

The Brakes use XT pads, so no worries on getting spares there.

I run two sets of cranks from KCNC and I love 'em. The External bottom bracket type have had the same bearings in them for nearly 1 1/2 years, and have done more mileage than you could shake a stick at. I think I've worn through 4 sets of chainrings.

Seatposts are great and the stems are a thing of beauty.

I just wish they made hubs.

In that case, I'd have no worries.

Had my first ride with the KCNC brakes, XC2 cranks, ti pro seatpost, chain and cassette... And they're all awesome 🙂

The brakes are stunning, to look at and to use. Bags of modulation, and masses of power - more power than Elixirs, and about the same modulation as Tech X2s.

Cranks are super stiff - cannot see any flex when mashing the pedals, and shifting with the matching chain and cassette is special.

On another point - Clee Cycles have the best customer service I have ever dealt with. Andy at Clee was incredibly helpful with choosing my kit, even when the right parts I wanted weren't in stock (cranks and brakes) he went over and above the call of duty to sort it out for me.

So... in summary.

KCNC + Clee Cycles = WIN.

Clee cycles are great, unfortunately buying from HK is a lot cheaper.

Yep. But the KCNC parts are still competitively priced in the UK, and from my experience, superior in quality and value to the competition.

I mean buying KCNC direct from HK is a lot cheaper, my Sc lite seatpost was 50% cheaper from HK.

XC Racer seem to be competitive price wise for bars and bar ends though.

Even with the charges levied on you by import duty, checking fee and VAT?

My failing memory tells me it's somthing like £34 plus all the VAT and duty, but I'm not too sure as it's been a while.

UK Warranty is well worth the "extra," especially when it's Clee Cycles stylee. But you pays your money and you take your choice.

KCNC cassette, good luck with that haha! Their stuff is good, but the longevity of the cassette is a bit of a joke.

That looks like the kind of stuff you would build yourself if you had the time, equipment and expertise and were fed up of problems/flaws with the stuff that is mass produced. There is added flair in the design as well as function. I like it. A lot.

But what is with the wires/tubes around that front mech? Electric or hydraulic shifting or something?

Oh and I bet the seals etc are all easy to get hold of in the UK from a seal supplier.

ahh electric: http://fairwheelbikes.com/cycling-blog/custom-bikes/di2-mountain-bike.html

not sure I like the idea of carbon fibre sprockets on a mountain bike or brake discs made like that. Seems like "making bits out of carbon because we can, not because it is the best material for the job". I have been to the company that makes them back when I was about 12 and I was impressed by the motorbike sprockets - the carbon fibre does have self lubricating properties but still want to see some proper science and specific design. I would like to work with them and help them improve them though because they are onto something.

Not if you by from the right places.
