very close to buying a new Kangoo. went back to the dealers today with the bikes and its a tight fit, was thinking I would buy the thru-axle fork mount which will help.
the issue is that it comes with a bulkhead that is taking up space and obviously the dealer isn't going to let me unbolt it all.
so with the bulkhead removed does anyone carry 2 large 29er enduro bikes, or similar?

also anyone bolted the thru-axle mount to the floor....anything to look out for?

You might affect the structural integrity of the van by removing it. You might have to inform your insurance company too. They are also there to stop the contents of the back being thrown towards your head after sharp braking

New shape or the old shape?

I had an old shape one with a bulkhead in it that I took out. There are about 10bolts (IIRC) and that’s it. Common to remove them, don’t remove the brace/grid behind the driver seat.. you don’t want anything hitting you on the back of the head.

I used to carry two bikes in mine, a roady and CXer with wheels on (turned at right angles) and still plenty of space for tool boxes/climbing in-out and all manner of bags and stuff.

Can’t help if it’s a new shape one.

Handy to note that the passengers seat folded flat on mine too.

kangoo

with thru-axle mounts its no problem,
and still plenty of space as bikebouy said !
I bolted two thru-axle mounts on a wooden board and fixed the board on the floor ...
reason for the board is , only two screws and the whole board is removable,
and interchangeable for the "fatbikes board"
I made the thru-axle mounts by myself , they have different heights, so the handlebars
are one over each other..

the kangoo is now five years old and it came without bulkhead,
but for me.. a bulkhead makes more sense in several ways..
big advantages in the case of an accident, heating in winter is far more efficient,
cooling in summer also..
less noise and less humidity if the bikes are wet and covered in mud..

Is it a Kangoo or Kangoo maxi??
I have a Maxi and it takes a XL bike in on the passenger side or a M/l 29r
My medium Aeris fits in divers side fine too
Great van
I’m just back from BPW with 4 bikes in mine with load of gear and it’s been fine

kangoo hence the question, I don't doubt the maxi would be fine.
am also liking the 2 year 24,000 mile servicing and long warranty they are offering
