I fancy assembling myself a disc braked commuter from the ashes of my current road bike it would have conventional gears, drop bars with STi, it would need to take guards and might get taken down a tow path from time to time.
Given I'll I'm not planning to use SS or an Alfine I'm thinking the Pompetamine with it's horizontal Dropouts is less of a contender that the swopout Kaffnback, but it is £40 cheaper at the minute, which does hold some sway with me...
Much as I like the look of a Salsa Vaya it's really too much money for me to have to justify to 'er indoors...
So before I decide on a Kaffnback or a pomp are there any other sub £200 disc compatible Road/Tourer/Cross type framesets I should really be considering?
does the pomp have a mech hanger? didn't think it did

You've changed.....
I like Kaffnbacks, but I own a Pompino - however I'm destroying pads on the fixie at the moment so discs are the way forward. See if you can find an Airborne Carpe Diem - disc braked and muchos cheapness
