I currently have

X0 rear mech
XTR front
XTR crank
X0 shifters

I'll need;

cassette
chain
rear mech
shifter
and possibly a N/W or a front guide

1: Is that a complete shopping list?

2: Will a Zee clutched rear mech need a N/W?

3: Will a Zee / SLX 10 speed cassette go straight on to my 9 speed HOPE freehub?

4: If I get a N/W ring, do I need new chain ring bolts to run a single at the front?

Many thanks

10 Speed works on normal hubs
Shorter chain ring bolts needed
Any reason for going to shimano?
If your going to run an expansion on the back then some mechs work better than others - very happy with the type 2 setup

My set up's 50/50 Shim and SRAM. Could go either way! What's your opinion?

I like the look of Zee. It matches the bike in a mini-DH type way. I have Shimano on my Inbred.

I'd still need the same bits, wouldn't I, if I go to SRAM or shimano.

yeah will work both ways, only other thing is an SLX won't split easily for a 40/42 conversion either and I'm not sure if it's suited to not screwing up a ProII freehub

Are SRAM cassettes better for Pro II hubs? Will a 10 speed SRAM slot straight on to the freehub too?

Although I could be persuaded otherwise, I'm pretty set on Zee mech and shifters. That's only based on positive reviews and, like I said, it's DH(-ish) on a budget orientation.

All 10sp fit on the freehub but there are considerations around the carrier to avoid chewing the freehub body.
