Had a few issues converting my Easton XC One wheelset to tubeless. Bought some Racing Ralphs, JRA Rim Strips and stans sealant. I couldn't get them to hold air overnight over a week or so :-(. I'd emailed the guys at JRA for advice on fettling etc. Managed to get the tyres to hold pressure by lowering pressure to 10 psi, rode along for 20 minutes to get a good seal everywhere, then inflated properly and went out on the trails for a few hours. Sorted! So, the fantastic after sales support from Matthew and the guys from JRA was very welcome indeed - as was their patience - thanks guys!
seconded, not the cheepest place in sheffield to get bits, but they did give me a set of maxxis high rollers (SPC, folding, 2.35, maxxpro)a t below RRP even when they were the only shop in the country stocking that particular model.
Gave them a big box of foxes mints for holding onto them for me.
its my favourite shop. Nice to find someone who has time to give advice and generally help you out with things. worth the price premium in my view, especially for wheels where you may just want someone to fix a dinged rim or replace a broken spoke at short notice.
In fact its a massive shame that they only do wheels. it would be so good if they were a 'full service' bike shop
+1
they should go on dragons den with a pitch allong the lines of......
"there is demand in sheffield for 3 bike shops"
"we know this because there are"
"but they're all crap, and our's has a pool table"
In fairness, Langsetts isn't bad if you talk to the owner and not the teenage spanner monkey. JEJames was just unhelpfull. Still recon JRA could clean up if they tried.
Glad someone had good service from them. I pinged them a mail on Friday saying I was about to buy some tubeless parafanalia (sp?) from there site, but just wanted to check I was about to order the right kit. Got a mail back saying they wouldn't answer my question cos I didn't buy the wheels from them. Er, yeah, but I'm about to spend c. £100 on tubeless kit and tyres. So I'm afraid they won't be getting my business from now on. Or at least until my huff disipates.
Dunno why they'd say that, I've probably spent <£70 in total with them, still pestered them for advice when other tires wouldnt go up and was offered free use of their compressor if I was still having trouble.
