Using that logic, you'll be needing new shoes too!!!! 🙂

If you don't get some grease in there, probably, tho th stainless BB might be OK, depending on the grade of stainless.

Just take the trouble to service it all and let it dry and you'll be fine.

stripped the bike down on sunday, the results:
one hope bb brg toast, one ok but wet, bb shell had water in it
outer rear wheel bearings toast, inners wet, but ok
frame (2010 heckler) bearings both gritty, frame pivot housing had water in it
front wheel brgs feel a bit gritty
i havnt looked at the pedals yet, but they feel ok

i have to do my girlfriends camber next, and that has 12 frame bearings...

remind me to carry the bike next time a cross a river!

POSTED 1 WEEK AGO ...

Will i be buying some bearings soon?

If you had stripped it down right away ,you may have saved more bits ,but if there was enough decent grease in the bearings, a wee splash through a river shouldn't have caused much bother.
Try something like thisfor the rebuild 🙂

I'd consider drilling a 5mm hole in the BB shell (not in a carbon one) to let the water out for next time.

'gritty' just means there's some dirt in there. Get them stripped down, clean them up, and chances are they'll run as good as new.

If you strip it down to find all your bearings are oval, have chunks missing out of them, badly pitted, or the races are wearing through....THEN it's time for new kit.

Why did you push it through instead of manualing?

With a name like yours, shouldn't you have carried it?
