Made my morning hearing this!
Do you think he's got one more win in him? Another year older..
Yes !!
Go on Cav!
Do you think he’s got one more win in him?
Honestly, given the form he seemed to be in this year - yep. He was still clocked as the outright fastest in the bunch, he just had appalling luck
He's got Morkov as his lead out man for next year too!
Come On Cav!
just had appalling luck
Hasn't he just! He's definitely still got it for one more TdF stage win.
Along with terrible luck (the gears skipping), he didn't have a strong lead out man either
If he's got any sense, Prudhomme is currently making the first seven days of the 2024 tour pan flat.
first flat stage is stage 3 into Turin
1,2,3,20 & 21 here
the first seven days of the 2024 tour pan flat
#doamario, #homebyrestday
Would like to believe he can win one more stage, but there are no gifts (not even Sepp), so I suspect this record will be filed under the same as his Olympic Gold.
Wow, I had missed the limited announcement for 2024. What are the odds that the whole GC comes down to a last day ITT? which I assume is what the organisers want!
flat stage - into Turin ??? The Italian Job 🙂
I'm not getting my hopes up because there are so many other fast guys
I really really hope so.
What I'd hate to see is another year of prep, another year where the media won't shut up about it and then another crash - either at the Tour or in the weeks leading up to the Tour - or illness etc.
I mean, he's phenomenal. But he's also spectacularly unlucky. He's done an awful lot of what he's done in spite of everything, rather than because of it.
But yes, fingers crossed for him.
I'm liking this news...I was really hoping he would get a win before he retired. However, I'm also feeling this is like that American Footballer who has retired about 10 times and keeps making a comeback - he has said he wasn't interested in the record, yet it seems he is now. Suspect he has been offered a good wage and a good team to make this more likely.
I'm in the 'Hope he does it!' camp...as despite my moan, I'm liking this news.
Only good news I've seen today.
Go Cav !
I reckon he was probably all sulky at home and kept going into the garage and stroking his top tube or wearing his helmet and glasses round the house. Probably kept trying to beat people to the check out in Tesco's...
So when he asked the question to his wife and kids they were like, "yes Dad, for christ sake do it, and cheer the hell up!"....
