This site has a 1000s of hits per hour, if the pics were hosted on STW domain servers the bandwidth usage would be far too expensive just for hits from the site never mind from hot linking.
There are easier image hosting options than the one you have used which is really very poor. For a quick easy to use hosting to show of your bike or a hilarious image then http://imgur.com/ is good for proper hosting then Flickr is excellent.
