I’ve copied this from Surrey Hills Mountain Biking FB page
Conditions should be just about spot on in the hills for the bank holiday weekend. Trails were firm, fast and generally dry this evening after the rain earlier in the week. The odd bit of mud and a few puddles still hanging around in places.
Note 1: Peaslake Summer Fair is on Monday, so the whole centre of Peaslake will be closed to traffic. Walking Bottom car park will be used for parking for the fair, so park somewhere else on Monday, cycle over, by some cake and support the village.
Note 2: If Fly Tipper is your sort of thing, then bad times as it has been levelled.

Heard Northern Monkey was also flattened at the same time
Saw the flytipper destruction on instagram this morning. Shame but inevitable. Hopefully it will rise again as the same type of run but in a style the landowners are more comfortable with.

just the jumps at the bottom - not the entire trail???? Please not the whole trail!!
Please tell me the jumps at the bottom haven't been taken out!!!
A reasonably reliable source told me that the NM jumps days were numbered, whether they have gone yet I don't know. Mainly because it goes back to the whole landowner debate which imo, is fair enough, but also because they attract people sessioning them who then hang around the jumps shouting f'in this, f'in that which echoes through the woods to the nearby houses who, understandably, are getting fed up with it. They have no issue with people riding in proximity to their houses, or the noise of people enjoying themselves, just the amount of swearing.
