You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Driving up to my parent's house just now. Thinking of a ride tomorrow but the usual problem that Hamsters is the only place we've found nearby that's worth riding ( with the kids)
I've done the various slogs over Hexham common every decade or so since my folks moved here, and wouldn't want to inflict them om the kids.
Ditto Kielder.
So, is there some amazing spot nearby that I've overlooked for the last quarter century ....
Chopwell. It doesn't fall into the amazing category by a long way. There's not a whole lot there, it's mostly off-piste stuff in the forest, so not easy to find your way around. They do have a pump track though, which might be of interest?
Beamish woods is close to Chopwell, so you could do both in one trip.
There's a bike park at phoenix bike shop that looked good from the dial carriage way
Edit. Never mind, read the title as cambridge
Hey, some of them do indeed look good. Perhaps tomorrow afternoon.
I totally forgot to check this thread this morning and we went to Hamsters. Only took 45 minutes to get to.
Hamsters is bloody amazing, it really is. There's no getting away from it. Just me and the wean so no faffing, waiting or being slow.... I'm much more of an XC/ big mountain kindof guy than jumpy winch and plummet but Hamsters is just so bloody well built for noobs like me there are just so many excellent jumps.
( obvious caveat being that when you descend from the first loop ( route 666) you just cut up the fire road to the mast/ accelerator etc rather than doing that horrible slog out to Neighbour Moor etc.
