I recently had my Commencal Absolut stolen and due to a claim on my house insurance I have the chance to replace it with a new bike up to the value of approx £1300.
I have narrowed the bikes down to the following, in order of preference:
DMR 898
Scott Voltage YZ 0.1
Specialized P3
Identiti P66 Comp

The bike is merely a play thing so doesn't need to be comfortable geometry for all day riding, I will only use it for trying to progress my jumping & pumping skills, and for clowning around on.
I had my last jump bike as 9sp, which is how I justified buying one in the first place, the idea being that my wife could use it if the opportunity arose (it hasn't so far).
This is not a deal breaker but would be nice to be able to easily convert if I decided to.

My other option would be to take £950 cash instead and buy a 2nd hand absolut again (9 speed).

Comments or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Does it need to be a complete bike? If not, why prevent yourself the fun of buying a frame and building something up yourself? Something like a small Cotic BFe or a Dialled Holeshot would be more versatile, probably lighter and wouldn't compromise jumping?

The caveat is that it has to be from bike replacement dot co dot uk.
It can be a bike and components up to the value of £1312.50. If it's a custom build I get less to spend taking into account labour charges. I did say I could quite comfortably build it myself if they send me the bits but apparently they couldn't offer any warranty that way.
A full bike plus extra loose components would come with a warranty.
Or I take a cash settlement of £1k minus £50 excess and spend it on what I want.

Take the cash and buy something 2nd hand. £500-600 will get you a seriously pimp jump bike that you will only lose a 100 quid on if you sell it.

I am seriously considering the cash option, just don't wanna feel like I've lost out if I did.
