Are these worth the extra quids over other JRA or Hope options? What are the hubs like?

Can just about manage these out of my commuter savings?

I've had a set for a couple of years. No issues.

Road or mountain?

I’ve got 2 sets of JRA ally road wheels with the Bitex hubs, 6 years and 4 years old. Both have been fit and forget and easily the tightest built wheels I’ve owned.

I've had a pair of the light Geckos running on my Stigmata gravel setup for over a year now, really happy, ticked all my boxes, would highly recommend to anyone.

Last time I looked they were getting a new MTB rim for summer 2020. I guess covid got in the way.

I'm running some of the Mahi Mahi road disc wheels, very happy with them.

I’ve had two sets of wheels from JRA and they’ve been maintenance-free - great build quality.

Having said that, if I get a new set I’m torn between JRA Mahi Mahi / Hunt / Parcours - all 40mm carbon wheels around the same price point. Has anybody tried some/all of those yet?

I see this company pop up on here time to time, usually by the same person; are these wheels not just imported Chinese open mould rims with silly names and stickers?

I have a set of 29 Pro2/Arch wheels hand built by JRA some 10 years ago. Outside of hub maintenance the only fault was breaking a spoke 2 months ago. While these aren't the carbon wheels mentioned by the OP and accepting the same wheel builder may not be there now, I would happily buy from them again.

The number of U.K. manufacturers of carbon MTB rims can’t be far off zero surely?

Thinking at that level, aren't they all in this price bracket!

Thank you, we're both the minority mind as I found out when I posted the build thread some time ago 😂
