For various reasons i've ended up with both. What do users think and has anyone used both, which do think is the best (both remote versions)?

Cheers,
Gareth

Had a maverick (forerunner to the Joplin) and seriously unimpressed with its reliabilty. Currently got two i900rs, one approx 6 months old and the other about 2 years old. Both have been very reliable.

As a side note make sure you have some sort of mudguard protecting its stanchion, they need much less servicing if you fit one.

yep old/new inner tube pulled over it to stop it getting dirty and it will last much longer and a little grease to keep it all nice and smooth

Still undecided as to which to keep/ sell. Any more opinions out there,
Gareth

had nothing but problems with the i950 and Supertat's woeful attempts to deliver both the original and replacements to me.

both suffered heavy scoring to the anodising, which of course they tried to imply was my fault.

luckily managed to get my money back.

All the joplins I've seen on the trails have about 10 degrees of side of side wiggle in them.

I have a i900, which has been faultless apart from the epoxy on the threads holding the seat clamp to the seat post coming loose - just meant I had to screw it on every so often. In any event I sent it back - no questions asked just got it fixed in a couple of weeks. My friend had the stanchion scoring problem - he had his fixed in a couple of weeks as well - it was a year or so old as well. They even gave him the new style remote for free.

I know superstar have a bad rep, but to be honest I've never had anything but good service from them.

Joplin 4 is stunning.
Like anything on you bike. Keep on top of the cleaning and it is less likely to let you down.
