Following on from this short thread and the question that seanthesheap asks....has anyone tried a 650B+ fat in the rear of a Jones plus yet?
Jeff makes reference to the masses of space in the rear with a 29+ tyre which makes me wonder if it could take something much wider like a 27.5x3.8?
I recon this could make for a proper all season killer of a bike...29+ for the drier (ahem) months and then a little fatter with more grip and more cush for the wetter months.
Anyone know if this set up has been tried, I might have to scratch the Jones itch...it's keeps nagging me...
Anyone?
Very good question and and its something I would like to know as well - i have a 650B+ on the back of my 29 space frame and have been watching the plus space frame with interest - a 29+ and 27.5x 3.5 or so would be excellent
Can't post directly from my phone but here's a Flickr link to a 27.5x3.8 Hodag front wheel in the rear of a current Jones Plus which I've borrowed.
It's very tight to get in place with minimal clearance.

Good pictures Atomizer...thanks.
Unless you're frequently on the very limit of cornering 'leaning' traction the outside knobs could be trimmed a bit.
How was the 650b+ wheel size compared to 29+. From previous research I think the 650b+ hodag comes out at circa 750mm which is circa 15mm smaller than my 29+ Chronicle on a 50mm rim.
More thinking to do....!
Chronicle on WTB Scraper is 760mm
Hodag on same is 745mm so yes 15mm difference.
I reckon it will work as long as your wheel is built well, just no margin for mud etc.
I had to push it past the chain stays thoug H when installing. And that's without trying to get the cassette past the derailleur.
Worth a punt I reckon!
