Anyone running the above. I need some variety in hand, arm positions for bikepacking duties and to help with wonky shoulder, elbow. Are they still good for fast DH sections, bit of a tech fest? Real world experiences please.
ime - yes, on a rigid bike they're really good. On a hardtail I wasn't as into them, felt like a sus fork and a wide flat bar were a better match. Some of it's about how/what I ride on each bike, some of it isn't logical, just my experience.
Thanks, got the wide bars just trying for more variety of position.
I've got the on-one copies and they are really good for bikepacking and flowy trails, but I find it hard to use them on technical stuff as the sweep makes it hard to turn the bars as much. They are great for changing hand positions on long rides, super comfy.
I run Loops on my Pact. That either has Rebas or rigid carbon forks and 29er or B+ wheels. I don't change the bars when I change the forks or wheels.
Anyone put aero bars onto their usual mtb bars for helping change position?
I like swept bars on rigid bikes and find they improve handling for techy riding because they help take the sting out of front-end hits. Obviously riding a rigid bike forces a different approach to some techy stuff where you might plough through with some suspension. I’ve never tried loops or similar on a suspended bike - I’ve just never felt the need.
I've Jones Loops on my fat bike (rigid forks) and on my FS (100mm Rebas). I'll also swap between standard bars and Velo Orange Crazy bars on my Solaris which has rigid forks.
The horns of the Crazy Bars are at 400mm centres so a wide aero if you like.

Tried that but prefer the Loops
Jones bar on the fat bike, it's done a fair amount of stuff, nothing super technical as it's rigid bit don't find the bars slowing you down on most stuff, plus different hand positions great for climbing and firetrack.
