i am confused as to which jockey wheels will fit my Deore lx mech as the bottom one were the bush fits has a larger hole than normal after a tree jumped in the mech and wear and tare going to replace them. the bottom has 11t could someone tell me which ones to get and where from if pos many thanks
any 11t ones will be fine, have used deore Taxx or BBB and all been OK.
CRC list a fair few. LX ones are £6 a pair (Can be bought singly too), but any Shimano jockey with 11 teeth will fit, so you can upgrade them 🙂

are there any which don't turn into ninja throwing stars at a rapid rate of knots?

As a follow on are there any not made of plastic? 😉
KCNC make alloy ones, but they're not cheap! See here
I think the Taxx and BBB lasted better than the shimano ones, I would love to try KCNC but them days are gone.... more money than a new SLX mech!!
think might just go for the tacx ones and see how they go tempted to go for bush only

I bought some KCNC ones on ebay far cheaper than they sell them at Clee's Cycles.. Paid £27 for 2 sets. Have a search.
edit got mine here:

You probably already know this, but just in case.....
If we're talking Shimano...
The top jockey wheel and the bottom one are different.
Although they look the same from the outside, take the covers off and you'll see that the top one is designed to have a degree of sideways float, the bottom one doesn't.
