I am really tempted by the Jo'burg2C race, sounds fantastic, great scenery and decent price. Decent length days but not too much climbing by the sounds of it.

Has anybody done it?

There's a huge, well-organised mountain biking scene in SA and this would be a fantastic event. Not only is the event cheap but your pound goes along way in SA, if you're going all that distance you ought to go to Cape Town, which is an absolutely superb city in a stunning area. However from their website it looks as if they are full.

In fact if you got there in March you could hire a road bike and ride another fantastic event, the Cape Argus, now renamed the Cape Town Cycle Tour on 12 March: http://www.capetowncycletour.com/ this stays open for overseas riders until quite late.

I've done this three times and it really is a lifetime experience.

Ha! Even my own thread doesn't show up on a search.

Thanks Glabalti, it was 2018 I was think of, this year is already planned.

It does sound excellent though.
