It's surely no cheaper than electrical tape - that works fine

Yeah Gorilla tape is about £2.50 in B&Q

Its £1 a roll (postage ignored).

Have always used Gorrila tape in the past but my tubeless setups tend to run out of sealant very quickly. Want to try something different this time.

Pretty much all tubeless tape is just a form of tensilised polypropylene strapping tape so its probably fine. Ive seen a few that look like some form of electrical tape (not the sort you wrap a dodgy wiring job with) but 99% is the same stuff just different thicknesses and manufacturers... so its probably fine, but bear in mind its only the narrow stuff for £1 and 10 m rolls mean its not actually _that_ cheap if you want to tape a rim beyond about 23mm.

Yeah but black gorilla tape goes absolutely manky, and clear tape though it's fantastic only comes in annoyingly wide sizes.

Got six rims to do. 2x 19mm, 2x 30mm and 2x40mm. Was think that a single reel of 45mm at £2 would cover the four wider rims and one 24mm reel the narrow rims. So £3 plus £4 postage.

Ben, The tesa tape you recommend seems to be £12 a reel and I'd need two different widths (though admittedly would have loads and loads spare!). Unless there is a cheaper place to buy that than ebay.

Had forgotten about the clear gorilla tape though. Hmm.

To close this one off don't bother. It's crap tape. It doesn't stick very well and I found it near impossible to lay flat. Also very, very easy to tear at valve hole! Glad I only got the thin one to try and went with gorilla tape clear for the wider rims!
