Hi folks,
Bought one of those Evans JetBlack volts back in the summer, and it's been ok. In the last 3-4 weeks though it's making some very odd chuntering noises, slipping sensation and lots of feedback through the pedals, particularly at changes of power during erg driven intervals. Feels as though something inside is out of whack.

Just wondering if anyone had had similar with a volt or other trainer, and any tips or fixes?Have tried contacting their support, but nothing helpful (tho has been Xmas etc)

Thanks for any advice.

Cheers

You've used your turbo? Arnt they just supposed to be expensive clothes racks? 😎

I know!
I'm ambitiously trying to get to 2watts/kg. If I keep on dry January for Feb the weight loss might be more use for that than the turbo

Thats the direct mount one isnt it?  My elite started doing that and the freehub grease had gone thick and manky. Think it absorbed water from being in a damp garage. Popped off the freehub and cleaned it all plus some new grease and all good again. Assuming your gears are all set up properly then thats where I’d look.

Does it drag the freehub on when you stop pedalling, and if you rotate the cassette backwards by hand there is resistance (mine rotated the flywheel backwards also)? Mine did that and they sent out a new freehub and crush washer to go behind it (like a Hope freehub spacer).
