Anyone who knows me can testify that I have zero colour co-ordination.

Since buying a road bike I've realised something....

So my bike is a sort of baby blue

[img] [/img]

Then this weekend at the Tour stall I tried to buy a Yorkshire tour shirt in yellow. They only had blue so I thought **** I need something...they only had this

[img] [/img]

Cheap on Merlin, I wanted black. They only had these

[img] [/img]

Jesus wept. I'm going to look stoopid.

Keep the bib shorts as etxeondos tag line is, aptly enough, 'special cycling'

I'm going to look stoopid.

Not as stupid as the bloke I followed in traffic the other evening. White bib shorts with a kind of black g-string modesty insert

Just looked like a massive milky white arse

I think it'll look awesome... Sort of in the same way that a big smurf on a bike might look awesome. Hope you have a white helmet...

My Mrs has a liking for that colour Hora.
🙂

Grips, cages, lid and jacket so far..it's a slippy slope mate.
Bontrager for the bike bits, Giro for the lid.

And we'll say no more about it.

How's the bike?

The Etxeondo Dicolor's bib shorts look a bargain at 45. I guess the price makes up for the 'colour'.

My first proper shorts (apart from the Endura Singletrack inserts shorts I'm currently riding on my road bike).

Grips, cages, lid and jacket so far..it's a slippy slope mate.

Erm, (theres no easy way to say this...)

I've also got this fitted

[img] [/img]

Although I do have black tape, black bars all kit black.

Jesus wept.

I disagree - the brown could set the look off nicely.

The only circumstance, the ONLY, where light blue lycra shorts would be acceptable is if you are contractually obliged to wear them by your proteam sponsor.

Why not pair with a nice smart-casual outfit for post-ride activities?

or they were ridiculously cheap, £45 isn't cheap enough IMO.

slippery slope indeed, brown saddle was a bad move - now even I'm thinking you need to get brown tape. Of course a better idea would be sticking a black saddle back on and ignoring all colour co-ordination in future and just ride the ruddy thing.

You need a blue helmet.

Sorry, but you need to go further - helmet needs to be white with matching white shoes with the blue outfit I reckon. I think anything but black shorts are wrong, even from a colour matching perspective, black leaves black helmet/shoe/sock option even with light colours.

I thought about what might be cheap enough, and then I thought that if these shorts ever seemed cheap enough you probably have other more pressing concerns than riding a bike.

It's a road bike. A couple of hours grinding around dull B-roads is likely to give you a blue helmet isn't it?

Sweet Lord Beefy, did you have that image on hand just for such a thread? 😯

I think I saw a few guys aiming for that crown yesterday ahead of Le tour in Cambridge village, if you are a little rounder in the middle, do you need to demonstrate it with Lycra?

Hora, stick with the blue, start on the Halgfos (or whatever their name is) monochrome range 🙂

Sheffield on Sunday had some of the most shocking examples of the 'burst black pudding' look I've ever seen. More oddly mis-shaped man vegetables squashed into too-tight lycra than you could shake a cattle prod at!

Clearly a lot of roadies don't possess either mirrors, or a partner who doesn't have the honesty to point at them and dissolve into mocking hysterics 😯

great minds think alike - at the same time too... Isn't it funny that the blues have been pushed really heavily in one photo and not the other?

This would look good when paired with some black shorts
White lid as well , white Oakleys with green iridium lenses
Avoid the stealth Black /Black /Sky look, too invisible in the summer sun when trees shade the road and drivers do not remove their sunnies

How do those Exteondo bibs compare to mid range Sportful or higher end DHB stuff?

No you can't. You can join the queue like the rest of us

Although to be fair, them charge scoops always look like they're tilted forward

oh Natrix there is a whole different thread on this bike and it's set up (please don't resurrect it 🙂 )

Exteondo bibs are very good, as are santini but as with saddles, different people prefer different pad shapes - stick to black bibs, it's safest but I agree that all black isn't great

I can't proffer advice really though, I buy strictly on bargainness and I look like a right colourvomit some days ! I've got a team issue geocatolli jersey that has just about every inch covered in sponsors, proper lairy...

I must have spent too long in Spain, nothing wrong with matching colours 🙂

The black+red helmet would have to go, though.

To be fair, it has to angled that way, for Hora to be able to insert himself on the bike.

The saddle is c1degree from bang on. Trust me. The scoop (if viewed from an angle dips in the middle and rises at the rear and the nose.
