Having read the thread title I was excitedly expecting to see that someone was organising an STW ride that would raise a few quid from donations for her charities.

Have never done an STW ride (they seem to be both legendary and indeed historical) other than the MNPR.

Think it would be a great idea tbh. Somewhere central (like the Peak District) and at a leisurely pace, more of a pootle perhaps....?!

As for the ride, well I could be interested, clearly depends where it is but hey, small sacrifice on my part for a bit of travelling.

Why just the one ride? There are plenty of folk on here all up and down the country, why not have a Peak ride, Lake ride, Borders ride, Cotswolds ride... Whatever, then partway round a group photo with a "For Jenn" card held up?

I could possibly host something at Chavenage House in the cotswolds. I'm injured atm but could get a few others to lead a Cotswold ride just north of Bristol/Bath? I do have Poldark in filming so will have to check the diary, even so we have enough room to start/finish. I've tagged a nice pic from April on instagram.

What about Sunday 4th October? Multiple similar rides across the length and breadth of the UK.

Minimal rules - start at 10am with an aim to be complete by 1pm at a suitable lunch stop; Group photo with some sort of banner at some point and all co-ordinated on here. That way, no matter how small our individual rides we will all be part of a bigger agenda happening at the same time.

We all have mates who have bikes that have been sat in the shed for months gathering dust, we could combine it with encouraging them to rediscover their zest for mtb-ing?

Cotswold #Jennride is in the planning. Looking at 11th October, its the day after Ocktoberfest. Ricky Cotter (fellow female 24hr solo machine) and I are sorting something out.
I have 2 beautiful start finish venues nr to Bath junc m4/Stroud, just waiting to hear if they are free, if not poss the week after. Saddleback lads are in and I'm seeing them on Tuesday so I'll see if we can come up with something creative to raise a bit more funds.
I'm injured so can't ride but Rickie knows every ride in this area so expect a solid classic south cotswolds hilly 3-4hrs; singletrack and views. I will sort some food and hot drinks out, and we might do a bring and share cake. Bring a donation and all goes to the nominated Charities.
How does that sound?
