I saw these bikes in Evans-Dakar A1, A2. I’ve not heard of Jamis before and I’m struggling to find any reviews. Are they any good? Components look pretty good for money. Any ideas?

This is my first post! Please go easy.

Not sure what the current models are like, but they’ve been around for a looong time.

as above, Jamis have been around ages, well known in the USA where their bikes have regularly won magazine awards

not so well known in the UK and as such not a 'name' that people will buy so you can often pick up a bargain

Back in the 90s, there were tons of em around the XC races. Don't see so many now as they lost their importer, but just started appearing again through Evans.

A bit like Scott, they make a huge range from cheap adventure bikes to high end enduros, fat bikes, all sorts.

They made some beautiful frames back in the early 90’s.😎

I remember a guy at school in the 90s had a beautiful jamis with a fillet brazed (tange prestige, I think) frame with an xt groupset. Easily on a par with my team Marin. The brazing on that looked so much prettier than my tig welded frame.
