Tuesday, I rode home from work. 38 miles in 21 seconds over 2 hours, gutted not to break 2 hours.

LOL. I last rode a road bike 35 years ago, i recall they where called "racers" back then. I am considering one as I fancy training for a 2015 Ride London type event.

Reality is I'm doing more miles commuting on road rather than off, that ATB Tripster thread is drawing me in, a perfect compromise.

Since my Raleigh Eclipse was nicked when I was 16 (I may have actually cycled to school, forgot it was there, and walked home with a girl - don't mention that to my Dad)

This morning. Wet roads, started in fog, finished in the sun with dry roads. All in 1 hour.

This morning,in the sunshine.
I had a tailwind.
It was very fast (for me )
I may have passed a few people (this is rare)
It will be a facewind going home, but I don't care.
I am going to buy an "I LOVE CYCLING" T-shirt.
The end

nemesis yip 8)

Nippy mind- the light was very crisp/sharp- almost autumn-like. Stunning and utterly silent. If I didn't own a road bike I'd never see/witness this morning.

I can see you'll be complaining about mtbers not nodding to you soon and slavishly following The Rules... The transformation to RoadieHora is clearly well on the way 🙂

Difference between me and you- this morning I stopped for nothing! and.... posing a shot/background is definitely what a mtb'er would do....

Us roadies look coldly ahead and crank out the miles whilst ignoring waving/nodding others. 😉

A few months ago, just before easter I think, I decided to sell all my roadie gear while I was on holiday in cornwall. Actually, I still have some prolite como wheels in the garage, rear hub is seized but they've not done many miles if anyone wants a cheap set. Shouldn't take much to get them running smooth again

I didn't enjoy it that much tbh, even though I managed to get away without any idiot comments shouted from cars this time

I wouldn't have been aware that there was a view.

We stand in the presence of a level 7 roadie.

All I see are the numbers flashing by on my garmin 8)

Actually not been out on the road bike for over a fortnight, there has however been quite a bit of turbo work! This mornings was done while watching the MSA DH WC, that was sort of like being outdoors.

Hide indoors on a Turbo?

Nah, buy Lights and guards and some warm winter kit and get back outside...

And they probably can't see anything other than your lights 🙂 (assuming the usual several thousand lumen mtb offerings)

1984. It was red and black with only one working gear, no front brake, two buckled wheels and the bars were inverted (so i could bunnyhop higher and longer).

Not since 6pm on the 7th July after getting knocked off by some silly bint. Just waiting on my fractured collar bone, shoulder blade, ribs and wrist to heal before getting back out. Managed a spell on the turbo the other day, felt comfortable on the bike surprisingly. The wife won't let me back out till after our holiday though so it's going to be another couple of weeks yet.
