It's just arrived and it's a Magic Mary Addix U-Soft Downhill (wired.)
I obviously didn't pay enough attention and clicked the wrong one (there's enough bloody choices.)
I intended to get a folding and tubeless ready one for general riding including lakes rides and ready for Ardrock.
Worth sending back and exchanging, or would you just put up with the wired one? Will it set up tubeless?
It doesn't say TR on it, will it be too much of a pain for general riding!?
most DHers are using some sort of tubeless these days.
I'd worry more that
U-Soft Downhill
Is actually going to last you until ard rock if you are putting mileage on it, especially on the rear.
Expensive to return a wired tyre - I'd ebay it and order the right one.
ps. I've got a pair of hardly used Marys TLE in amber wall I could sell you if you need something quick?? I'll get the full spec if interested
Depending on who you bought it from it may be free to return?
I recently bought a Hutchinson Griffus Hardskin, I was send the 2x66Tpi DH casing tyre by accident. I posted it back (£7) and then was refunded the postage. If you can wait, I'd send it back and get the one you want.
Thanks for the fast replies! I'm sending it back then. Gonna end up being a bloody expensive tyre now but that's my stupid fault.
I'm not in a rush, just looking to replace the Butcher that's on at the moment. Went riding last week and I didn't trust it at all, felt like I could barely Lean or turn at all. I appreciate this will be as much my lack of ability as much as the tyre! Getting the fork serviced as well.
Thanks for the offer @dezb, I'm just replacing the front, going rock razor on the rear.
An ultra soft wired downhill tyre will be a nightmare to pedal uphill or along tarmac.
If you run it on the rear it will wear out very quickly.
I'd send it back and get the one you wanted.
If you paid via PayPal they’ll cover the return postage
A few years ago I ordered correctly a 29er exo minion, but receved a DH casing 29er instead. This was just about when a few of the pro teams were experimenting with 29ers, and I guess a few of the less finess EWS guys were using them too.
As I had absolutely no use for one (and couldn't forsee personally ever wanting a big wheeler for my "big bike") I sent it back and got the tyre I wanted, but looked at the RRP afterwards... damn I missed out.

Say what now?
Magic, never knew about that, I use PayPal for all my online purchases as well!
Well that's good then, purchased via PayPal so I'll give that a go 🤘
