Early start for me today now the light is finally starting to getting a bit better in the mornings.
Solo ride and didn't see any other riders for the first hour and a half.
Not often you get the Golfie all to yourself.😁
Another 1000 Meters of descent clicked off before mid day.

Show us what you've been up to then.

Local greasy woods this morning, 38km, 2.5 hours on the SS HT. My legs are getting tired riding SS, that's 4 SS rides in a week! But the FS frame has gone off to have a crack repaired (no, it's not a Giant!), and I wanted to ride MTB rather than gravel. Great fun though, twisty, rooty, rocky, ups & downs, big smiles!

@singlespeedstu - yeah I noticed it's getting lighter in the morning. When I was in the shed on the turbo 🙁 Your ride looks quite a lot better!

@eatmorepizza - where's that then?

https://flic.kr/p/2of858B

Dug out the eBike yesterday. First time this year to ride to the pub (and lend it to a mate who is recovering from an op). What a fab thing it is. Also no longer embarrassed to park it next to the fence after the new one is nearly finished.

Two rides this weekend. Local one this afternoon and long ride to the Yat tomorrow. Going to ride my Giga for the first time since September last year. Still has Molini dust on it!

Not much going on at the moment, just getting over COVID but needed to get out. Just a local xc* nimble. Good to get out though.

*Can I call it gravel now I've taken the curly bars off?

GT for the first time in a while. Great chat from everyone no matter what I was riding. Wanted to set a lap the redo it. First on Pace rc529 empty the legs then on kenevo sl to see if I had anything left. Full climb to top of spooky, spooky then the off piste, back on for the third part then out for double X, the bitch and ponduro.

Set 1hr15 on the Pace. Did the same on the kenevo sl. 15mins faster and half as many calories burnt and I could have pushed harder.

Morning jaunt on't eeb up to some woods in North Yorkshire. Started drizzling just as I was about to get there so I was a bit worried about greasy conditions. Needn't have. Conditions were absolutely fantastic. Dry but not too dry, REALLY grippy. Had a great time. 30Km 1700m climbing 1700m descending all on absolutely prime trails. It was quite hilly and very very good 🙂

Didn't get any particularly good photos but here are some nice berms:

And here's my bike:

Local solo ride after having endured my first ever Covid infection over the week. I could feel that it has taken a toll on my fitness; on a more positive note, the trails were running surprisingly well for the time of the year.

@Alex that's up at Guisborough forest before circling around the back of Highcliffe Nab.

One from today testing out the new tyres at the top of Soapwell Woods, which is the first peak on the right hand side in my last weeks ride photo

Dear lord, those cars @kayak23 ! A Rolls too, what a mess!!!

Solo north downs haunt me for me - was late, forgot half my kit and missed the group ride. Oh well, enjoyed myself in the end!

@eatmorepizza - ta. Never actually ridden there.  Probably should add it to to the never ending list!

https://flic.kr/p/2ofcaJP

I intended to take more photos on the trails but was just having too much fun. Coil sprung both ends, the giga just eats up roots/rocks/etc. After riding the hardtail for four months, this was a very different experience 🙂

First time out properly in a while. 13 mile ebike loop to the top of Beeley and over to Chatsworth.

A cheeky (e)KOM without trying too

had a crap week and then watched someone moaning on youtube that being a full time youtuber is hard work! so I went out for a ride to cheer myself up and it ended up in a right ranty video as I got things off my chest, I cheered up by the end especially after meeting this guy though
https://flic.kr/p/2ofh6Jz

found a new to me bridleway
https://flic.kr/p/2ofd5aR

https://flic.kr/p/2ofaQZY

ended up doing 50 miles of just following the front wheel in no particular direction which is sometimes the best way to (not) plan a ride

https://flic.kr/p/2of8hof

https://flic.kr/p/2of8haE

after taking 4.5hrs to do 50 miles predominantly in the flattest county outside of Norfolk/Suffolk weighed down only with a gopro and a wool hat I've confirmed that I'm not cut out for ultra distance bike packing.

Gorgeous morning for a ride; it really feels like spring!
Yesterday was messing about in the woods with mates (Hemlock Trails).
Sherwood Pines this morning - the blue trail be becoming increasingly bermy and fun

Dropping in above Fort Augustus, looking out towards Glengarry Hills and Ben Nevis. Set off from home into the sleet last night, rewarded with a fine clear night and a lovely morning to take the long way home 🙂

Couple of post-Covid rides for me this weekend. I felt pretty rough three weeks ago so I’m pleased that I’ve not lost much of my fitness or strength. I actually think that a couple of weeks completely off the bike may have been good for me.
Friday was Dunkeld and today was above Aboyne. Personal bests on descents both days so pleased with that.

Let garmin connect choose my 20 mile weekend junk ride.

Took me up to maryhill via bells bridge then back along through the city centre back home.

city centre sucked but it took me places I hadn't ridden before which was interesting.

Quality cowage there @rocketdog. And excellent houndshots from @kayak23

Drove out to the Yat today and was glad I did. Not sure I had it in the legs to ride the 10km home! Rode loads of trails that we normally only do spring/summer. Definitely dry, sometimes dusty, always sunny but cold on one side of the hill. 1000m+ on the big bike after a week of a lot of riding. But you can't not keep going out when it's so good!

Photos taken from the pub. Really should have got the phone out while we were riding!

I was really hoping for more this weekend but I'm still buzzing on the new bike. I definitely made the right choice to have that last whiskey & coke and light up the new credit card.

Just managed a few spins around the block with some allen keys and a shock pump. Next weekend I'm home alone so it'll be domestic bliss and lots of riding.

First proper trails on the G1 since I built it, nothing steep but plenty of rooty chattery bumps which are a test for any suspension.

No mud!! 😮

Only a walk today, took the hound up to the moors where he loved going for a run and scattered his ashes at my favourite rock outcrop. It overlooks where we live and the fields he used to run in most often.

10 years since he passed, but we still shed some tears

There was also a funny sign, TBH I didn't go up to the top the  out of the sun it gets a little chilly and ITBH I'd left it a bit late in the day and wanted the light for home.

Funnily a car drove past as I was coming down, TBH I thought people would park at the bottom and have a nice walk up but nah they just drive up the crumbly road to the top 🙂

(also dont like shadows on crumbly roads around here as it hides massive potholes or er lack of road)

Just been out, for a couple of runs of a local track, it was riding perfectly yesterday and I set a new pr/kom, went back tonight to see the time difference in the dark, turned out to be 10 seconds slower in the dark over a 1.38(1.48) 0.36 mile, 279 ft run.

Last minute dash to ride a mix of bits at Dalby... Few of the better early red bits, some black, some old black and some off piste... Going careful as I was riding solo so didn't go too gnar...

Ochils on the new bike for me. First a wee ride with the boy then off on something a bit bigger.
