Cos I forgot my panties today...!

First day 'proper' cycle commuting as previously was only 5km from work, so would come in 'dressed' on teh cargo bike...

Now I'm 25mk away, I'm coming in when I can on the trispster (in lycra)..
No shower facilities at work (bummer) but will look into this..
Alas..I need to have a little 'SOS' box here with spare pants/socks/body spray etc, for those days i'm a bit more forgetful!!!

Anything else to consider/? I might give the pits nad bits body wash and flannel approach a go too!

Surely stealing paper pants is rustling, not pinching?

In terms of stuff to stash, spare tube in case you have a nightmare commute after the farmer cuts the Hawthorn hedges and get through everything you're carrying.

Annoyingly, these are what i've forgotten.... Lovely and scratchy, and saves at least 3 trips to the loo per day... 😉

I've done it a few times. Sockless in the summer is quite nice in a hot office but in the winter just makes you look weird!

Worst time though was when I also realised I had a small hole in the gusset of my trousers. Spent the whole day with my legs crossed under my desk!!

I take all my gear on one day, returning with the previous weeks gear on the same day. That way I can ride without clutter on the other days.

When I was commuting, in my locker I had shoes, trousers that were changed regularly-ish, and emergency socks, undies, deodorant and glasses.

Glasses is a great shout...
I'd look like Heston Blumenthal if I consulted in my riding oakleys!

Surely stealing paper pants is rustling

deserving recognition

I have spare: Glasses, pants, socks, shirt/t-shirt, jumper, trousers/shorts...luckily we have good facilities for cycling-in with showers, lockers and a drying room. Sadly, as 60% of folks are now WFH, the cleaning regime seems to have forgotten the showers and new life is growing in the corners 🤢

Plus wet wipes if no shower.

Also consider an extra spare inner tube and/or puncture kit

Forgot my towel last week. Stood and air dried for a bit, then remembered the hair dryers so stood in the public space in my pants drying by back, chest, leg and armpit hair.

Used to take all my clothes in on Monday and bring them back on a Friday when I used to commute 15 miles each way.

Had spare socks and pants in my locker, plus an emergency shirt if I had a customer meeting sprung on me.

Socks. If there was anything I was going forget it was my socks.

At one point I thought it might be worth painting my ankles black as a solution.

The words "commando" and "peeps" have no place in any sentence....

On a week off, having swapped a job with a 30 mile each way drive, for a job with a 4 mile each way cycle.
Probably going to cycle in with a week's worth of clothes, on a Monday, and bring the previous week's laundry home the same day.
Will have shower facilities and a locker, so storage won't be an issue - just need to plan those emergency spares.

Thanks for the timely reminder, DrP.

Good luck with the longer commute - that's probably about the ideal distance, TBH

A couple of spare usb charging cables for your lights - there will come a day when you need them.
Some large format Aloe vera make up removal wipes you can pop in the bin, don't fancy that flannel come Friday

Lycra shorts make perfectly fine underpants if you have a memory fail.

the showers and new life is growing in the corners

Shower clogs / sliders / Crocs essential for any workplace showers (and some campsites). Complete civilisations of black and green moulds combine with limescale patina. On second thoughts site toecap wellies might be a better bet.
