I’m so lucky to live in Rossendale with some incredible views, trails and friends.

I have been out for a couple of times this week and shortly this afternoon.

Here is a flavour of the week so far.

Nearly summer? Well something's removed the dust, this was the most dusty trail I rode this morning:

Because of the excellent summer weather this morning's ride was a "let's mess about in the woods" type ride rather than an XC epic.

Great Day in the Surry Hills on Saturday.

A drop

A steep chute that took me far too long to get my head round

Then found the "drop" that Olly Wilkins broke his ankle on. Pure ridiculousness!!

Saturday out with the wife and child for groceries.

Sunday out to do a diy AAA Audax in less clement weather. Same climbing as @jimmy748 but 45 miles more riding 😄

Due to a wet week and torrential rain all day Friday I decided not to take the MTB out onto the local hill so opted for two morning gravel rides on Sat and Sun instead.

Saw a pic on Instagram saying Cwmcarn was dry. So first non local ride for ages (it's 55 mins for me). Only had time to ride Cafell. Was great, forgot how much fun trail centres are and Cwmcarn is defo a good one.

Be back soon to ride some of the off piste as per the OPs route. 6000 feet of climbing tho, fair play!

Was chucking it down when we got there (natch) so decided not to take camera. Instead here's a pic of my gravel bike from a week before. Three of us should Be riding the King Alfred's Way this week but we've postponed. I've served my time riding wet/boggy/draggy/muddy multi day events!

The wind and rain finally let up a bit on Sunday, so did a quick 30mile loop from Cullen.

Up in the Lakes for a week I'd riding at the moment, did the back of skiddaw yesterday before the rain came across

Then today we've done a load of the bridleways which cross Grizedale, proper bouldery stoney loose stuff.

The pinion hardtail has taken it all in it's stride with no fuss, my God it's fast when you let it go!

Bit of a weekend extension. Testing some software so the boss dropped me at Sandringham yesterday morning and I rode from there to Heacham along part of the Peddars Way.

Heacham appears to be full of care homes once you're past the centre and heading towards the beach and the tidal flooding zone!
